The SwissTXT Customer and Partner Event "What's now?" saw Spitch present their fully automated "speech-to-text subtitles" solution.

Spitch developed the solution to deliver a fully automated subtitle and translation from Swiss German (dialect) to High German. «Spitch showed how to automatically generate German subtitles for the Swiss Weather forecast "Meto" which is spoken in Swiss German dialect. Currently Spitch achieves an average "Word Error Rate" of 15% whereby 85% of the text is correctly translated from spoken Swiss German to High German. This significant achievement is very close to human performance! Spitch will further increase platform accuracy in the next few months», – commented Juerg Schleier Country Manager DACH at Spitch AG.

SwissTXT benefits from approximately 80% effort reduction for the production of Swiss German subtitles. Spitch together with SwissTXT sees a great potential by offering a solution which can generate subtitles for any kind of spoken Swiss German content: Company videos, News, Indexing video archives, etc. Spitch has completed the weather forecast and is able to do the News and other TV formats.
